The AK-47 assault rifle is responsible for more deaths than any other gun on the planet, it also is the most numerous. This weapon weighs 9.5 pounds, carries 30 rounds, and is lethal at ranges of 300 meters. Some claim it can be submerged in sand and in one shot it will clean it self, it is tough and reliable. The Kalashnikov is named after it's inventor Mikhail Kalashnikov who designed it in 1947 and saw service in 1949. Kalashnikov has become a Russian hero for his creation which continues to be the weapon of choice for Russian troops.


This weapon is important to know because it is probably the gun being carried by the folks who want us dead.Just found it interesting to know that this birth child of the Cold War will continue to kill and so few of us know anything about it.
